Francesca Moore

Dr. Francesca Moore is an Associate Professor in Geography at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with Homerton College. She is a member of the Vital Geographies research group within the Department of Geography, part of the School of Arts and Humanities. Her academic credentials include an MA, MSc, MPhil, and PhD.

Moore is a feminist legal geographer specializing in the historical and contemporary politics of gender, culture, and reproductive rights from 1850 to the present day.

Among her recognitions, Moore was a runner-up in the 2010 Wiley-Blackwell Publishers Area Prize for New Research in Geography for her article "Tales From the Archive: Ethical and Methodological Issues in Historical Geography Research."

Moore actively supervises graduate research and welcomes scholars interested in geographies of law and justice, reproductive geographies, feminist geography, gender studies, and gender cultures across time. Her work contributes significantly to interdisciplinary conversations about reproductive justice, particularly through her involvement with Cambridge Reproduction, where she explores the politics and history of abortion from both historical and contemporary perspectives.
