Francesca Mazzilli

Dr. Francesca Mazzilli is a WiRe (Women in Research) Fellow and guest lecturer at the Institute for Classical and Christian Archaeology, University of Münster, with additional roles as a Visiting Tutor at Royal Holloway University of London. She holds a PhD in Archaeology from Durham University (2014) and specializes in the Hellenistic and Roman Near East.

• Core Research Areas: Religious landscapes, network analysis, Roman military religion, and ethical challenges in archaeology.
• Key Publications: Monographs on Rural Cult Centres in the Hauran (2018), co-edited volumes like Networks as Resources for Ancient Communities (2023), and articles in Mythos, Britannia, and Theoretical Roman Archaeology Journal.
