Francesca Mazzacuva

Dr Francesca Mazzacuva is a Senior Lecturer in the Health, Sport & Bioscience research institute at the University of East London. Her research focuses on nanomedicine, pharmacology, and toxicology, with emphasis on drug delivery systems, herbicide toxicity, and metabolic disorders. Key areas include characterization of mesoporous silica nanoparticles for drug loading, development of FABP4 and PDE4 inhibitors, and assessment of glyphosate-based herbicide co-formulant effects.

Her work spans interdisciplinary collaborations in analytical chemistry, proteomics, and environmental health, with recent studies on peroxisomal disorders and cellular toxicity mechanisms. Dr. Mazzacuva has contributed to over 30 peer-reviewed publications since 2010, including studies on curcumin delivery systems and iPSC-derived hepatocyte models.
