Francesca Iannarilli

Francesca Iannarilli is a Contract Lecturer at the Department of Humanities, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, and a Professor of Egyptology at the Interuniversity School of Specialization in Archaeological Heritage (SISBA) since 2023. She serves as field director of the Italian Archaeological Mission in Sudan at Jebel Barkal, with a scientific qualification as associate professor in sector 10/N1 (2024-2035). Her work bridges Egyptology, Sudanese archaeology, and cultural heritage conservation.

Her research focuses on Ancient Egyptian funerary traditions, iconography, Pyramid Texts symbolism, and Meroitic metallurgy. She contributes to archaeological documentation, conservation projects at the Temple of Mut, and Sudanese-Italian collaborative exhibitions. Articles highlight her expertise in textual analysis, human figure representation, and cultural exchange between Mediterranean and Nubian societies.
