Francesca Greco

Francesca Greco is a Researcher at the Institute of Philosophy, University of Hildesheim, affiliated with the Faculty of Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Communication. She is currently a PhD candidate working on her dissertation 'Nothing, Nothingness, Relationality: An Intercultural Reinterpretation of Negativity' under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rolf Elberfeld and PD Dr. Katrin Wille. She serves as a research member in the DFG-funded Koselleck Project 'Histories of Philosophy in a Global Perspective' (2019-2024).

Her research explores intercultural philosophy with specializations in:

• Negativity and relational ontology/meontology
• Global histories of philosophy
• Japanese philosophy (Nishida Kitarō)
• 20th-century philosophy (Heidegger)
• Ancient philosophy (Plato's Sophist)

She maintains active memberships in the European Network of Japanese Philosophy, International Association for Japanese Philosophy, Heidegger Society, and Society for Intercultural Philosophy.

Her publications demonstrate consistent engagement with intercultural hermeneutics, particularly analyzing concepts of nothingness, relationality, and boundary logic across Japanese and Western traditions. Recent works explore decolonial approaches to philosophy historiography and epistemic justice.
