Francesc Posas Garriga

Francesc Posas is a Full Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and Director of IRB Barcelona since 2018. He co-leads the Cell Signaling Research Group and has held leadership roles including Head of the Department of Experimental and Health Sciences (2007-2013) and Vice-rector for Science Policy (2013-2017).

His research focuses on cellular adaptive responses, particularly MAP kinase pathways and stress signaling in yeast and mammals. Recent work explores synthetic biology and biological computation. His publications span top journals including Nature, Science, and Molecular Cell.
