Fong Ho Wang is a Research Assistant and Doctoral Candidate at the Department of Ancient Studies within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Basel. Since April 2021, Wang has been working as an assistant in the SNF PRIMA project "Au-delà du texte. Les nouvelles compositions funéraires d'époque gréco-romaine : textualité et archéologie à Thèbes" under Principal Investigator Sandrine Vuilleumier.

Wang's research focuses on ancient Egyptian funerary texts, particularly from the Greco-Roman period. Their doctoral work centers on "The Second Document of Breathing," an important ancient Egyptian religious text. Wang has participated in archaeological fieldwork, including with the University of Basel excavation team in Deir el-Medina, Egypt, in cooperation with the Institut français d'archéologie orientale (IFAO) in January-February 2022. Their expertise spans Egyptology, ancient religious practices, hieroglyphic translation, and archaeological methodology.
Wang has been actively involved in various academic activities, including participation in the Ashmolean Epigraphic Workshop (March 2020) and the Egyptian Archaeology Skills School organized by the Egypt Exploration Society (July 2017). They have also contributed to scholarly projects such as Jenny Lane's Journals Project at the Griffith Institute, University of Oxford (May-July 2019).
