Folasade Adebayo is a Research Fellow in the Department of Food and Nutrition at the University of Helsinki. Her research focuses on vitamin D nutrition, public health interventions, and dietary practices among immigrant populations. She has conducted extensive work on vitamin D deficiency mechanisms, food fortification safety, and health disparities in migrant communities.
Her research interests include exploring racial variations in nutrient requirements, developing digital health interventions for obesity prevention, and improving dietary guidelines through systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials. She has contributed to the EFSA guidelines on vitamin D tolerable upper intake levels and led studies on breastfeeding practices among immigrants in Finland.
Dr. Adebayo has authored 11 peer-reviewed articles since 2017, with recent work emphasizing vitamin D supplementation safety and the application of meta-analysis techniques to dietary requirement estimation. She actively participates in academic activities, including 27 peer review engagements and presentations at major nutrition conferences such as the Nordic Nutrition Conference and the European Nutrition Conference (FENS).
