Dr. Florian G. Kern is an Associate Professor (Reader) at the Department of Government, University of Essex, and a Visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics' Department of Methodology. He holds a PhD from the University of Konstanz and an MA from SAIS, Johns Hopkins University. His research focuses on comparative politics, particularly the political economy of development, governance, and conflict in Africa and Indigenous North America.
