Florian Conradi

Florian Conradi is a Visiting Professor at the Technical University of Berlin, Faculty I - Humanities and Educational Sciences, within the Institute for Philosophy, History of Literature, Science and Technology. He serves as Head of the Open Science Group (2019–2024) under the Einstein Center Digital Future (ECDF). His academic work bridges critical theory and design through the exploratory method of Critical Design.

• PhD in Design Research from Berlin University of the Arts
• Studied at Mainz University of Applied Sciences, Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Sandberg Institute (MFA), and Cologne International School of Design (MA)

His research spans sociopolitical design projects in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and he has collaborated with institutions like the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and the Weizenbaum Institute. He currently leads the research group Design, Diversity and New Commons at the University of the Arts/Weihnachtsbaum Institute.

Conradi has taught at Cologne International School of Design, Berlin University of the Arts, and as a Visiting Professor at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (2018–2019) and TU Berlin/ECDF (2019–2024). His work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to design, media, and technology.
