Florian Benedikt

Florian Benedikt is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Process and Energy Engineering, Department of Natural Sciences and Sustainable Resources, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). His research focuses on sustainable energy technologies with emphasis on biomass conversion systems.

His recent work centers on developing innovative solutions for sustainable energy production through biomass-based conversion systems capable of achieving zero and negative emissions. Dr. Benedikt has contributed to advancements in sorption enhanced reforming technology, which shows significant potential for clean hydrogen production and carbon capture applications.

Dr. Benedikt is actively involved in two major research projects:

• "Experimental fluid dynamic investigations of a fluidized bed thermal fuel conversion system for efficient biomass-based zero and negative emission solutions" (2023-2025)
• "Truly Carbon Neutral electricity enhanced Synthesis of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from biomass" (2022-2027)

He has presented his research at international conferences including the 16th International Conference on Sustainable Energy & Environment Protection 2024 in Vienna and the 30. Workshop on Fluidized bed technologies in Nuremberg, Germany.

Dr. Benedikt serves as a member of the organizing committee for the 16th International Conference on Sustainable Energy & Environment Protection 2024.
