Florian Beauvallet

Florian Beauvallet is a Lecturer in Anglophone Studies at the University of Rouen Normandy, affiliated with the UFR Letters and Human Sciences. His academic role includes teaching across multiple departments, including the Department of Anglophone Studies, LEA (Language, Economy, Administration), and Letters Modernes. As a member of the ERIAC research institute (UR 4705), he contributes to research axes focusing on spaces, cultures, and contemporary literary studies.

Beauvallet holds a Doctorate in English Literature (2013–2019) from the University of Rouen, with a thesis titled The Art of Adam Thirlwell's Novel: Towards an Aesthetics of Nonchalance?, supervised by Anne-Laure Tissut. His academic qualifications include a Master's and Bachelor's in English and Anglophone Studies from the same institution. He is qualified for the position of lecturer in the CNU section 11 (English and Anglo-Saxon languages/literatures).

His research focuses on the art of the novel, particularly in British, North American, and European contexts, with emphases on narrative form, authorial style, and themes like humor, existentialism, and historical memory. Key authors studied include Adam Thirlwell, Philip Roth, and Milan Kundera. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals such as Comparative and Continental Philosophy and Inter-Textes, and contributes to editorial projects like L'Atelier du roman.

Beauvallet teaches courses in literary analysis, translation, and academic writing across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has organized academic events, including the 2019 "Littérature en réseaux" conference, and engaged in translation work for scholarly projects.
