Florentine Rungrama Muhry

Florentine Rungrama Muhry is a researcher at the University of Hildesheim's Institute for Fine Arts and Art Studies, affiliated with the DFG Research Training Group 2477 "Aesthetic Practice" since 2022. She holds an MA in Art History from the University of Vienna and has worked at institutions like Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen and Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg.

Her research examines postcolonial aesthetic practices through Rasheed Araeen's work, challenging Western art canons through decolonial frameworks. She explores intersections of racism, colonialism, and art historiography.

Her publications and curatorial projects focus on decolonial aesthetics, including contributions to exhibition catalogs and peer-reviewed journals. She has received scholarships from Goethe Institut and NRW+ and organized conferences like "Decolonial aesthetic practices?" (2024).
