Adjunct Associate Professor · Immunology
Max Planck Institute for Molecular BiomedicineAbout
Florent Ginhoux serves as a Senior Principal Investigator at the Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN), A*STAR, and holds adjunct associate professor positions across Singapore's academic landscape including the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at National University of Singapore, Duke-NUS Medical School, Skin Research Institute of Singapore, and Nanyang Technological University's School of Biological Sciences, with additional affiliation at Shanghai Immunology Institute.
His academic foundation was established in France:
- Biochemistry degree from University Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC), Paris VI
- Masters in Immunology from Pasteur Institute (2000)
- PhD from UPMC, Paris VI (2004)
Following postdoctoral training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine under Dr. Miriam Merad, he joined SIgN in 2009 after serving as Assistant Professor at Mount Sinai. His laboratory pioneers research on dendritic cell and macrophage ontogeny using high-dimensional platforms including RNA sequencing, single-cell transcriptomics, and mass cytometry (CyTOF) to define cell populations by developmental origin and uncover their specialized immune functions.
Recognized as an EMBO Young Investigator, his work bridges fundamental immunology with therapeutic applications for immune pathologies. His mentoring includes PhD student Katharine YANG and postdoctoral researchers Satish Tiwari, Sulvania Susanto, Priya Dhami, and William Ho. The lab actively collaborates on immunomonitoring projects leveraging SIgN's advanced platforms for high-dimensional immune profiling in both human and murine systems.
