Florence Bistagne is a Senior Lecturer at Avignon Université, affiliated with the Interdisciplinary Laboratory ICTT (Cultural Identity, Texts, and Performance). Her research focuses on the Kingdom of Naples (1442–1503), blending philology, cultural history, and digital humanities. She specializes in editing, transcribing, and translating medieval and Renaissance sources in Latin, Greek, Italian, Neapolitan, and Catalan.
Education: Graduated from École normale supérieure with classical studies (Latin, Greek, French) and Italian. Previously held roles in private and public sector communication before joining academia.
Research Interests: Written cultures, Romance languages, luxury and arts in early modern Europe, multilingualism, and Mediterranean globalization. Recent projects include the ANR-funded LUXART initiative (collaborating with art historians and museum curators) and co-editing Minorities, Migrations, Globalization (2022).
Grants & Collaborations: Lead investigator of the ANR LUXART project reconstructing Naples' cultural heritage. Active in ICTT, a lab examining identity through texts and performance, with 35+ permanent members and 20 doctoral students.
Labs/Teams: Co-directs research within ICTT, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to cultural history and digital scholarship.
