Flavia Palma

Flavia Palma is a fixed-term researcher (qualifica di ricercatore a tempo determinato, lettera B) in Italian Literature (SSD ITAL-01/A) at the Department of Humanities of Ca' Foscari University of Venice. She is also affiliated with the Doctoral School in Italian Studies and contributes to academic journal editing as part of the editorial board of Generi. International Journal of Italian Literature.

• Education: Bachelor's (L-10, 2011) and Master's (LM-14, 2013) in Literature from the University of Verona (cum laude); PhD in Philological, Literary, and Linguistic Studies (2017) with joint Doctor Europaeus certification.

Her research spans three main areas: (1) Medieval-Renaissance Italian Literature, focusing on Boccaccio's vernacular production, the novella genre, and its European reception; (2) Eighteenth-Century Venetian Literature, analyzing Antonio Piazza's novels and scholarly journalism; and (3) 20th-Century Italian Literature, particularly Primo Levi's correspondence with German intellectuals through the ERC-funded LeviNeT project. She has also edited critical editions of Niccolò Granucci's works (2022) and authored a monograph on short story traditions (2019).

Key projects include her role in the PRIN 2017 Re.Novella project (Renaissance novella genre database) and the ERC LeviNeT project (Primo Levi's German correspondence). Her publications appear in journals like Studi sul Boccaccio, Giornale storico della letteratura italiana, and La parola del testo.
