Fischer Wolfram

Wolfram Fischer was a prominent academic in Economic and Social History. He served as Professor Emeritus at the Free University Berlin since 1996, following his tenure as a full Professor from 1964–1996. He was Dean of the Faculty of Economics (1968–1970) and held leadership roles in academic administration. His research focused on economic and social history, with notable contributions to the field.

Education: Dr. rer. pol. from Free University Berlin (1951–1954), Dr. phil. from University Tübingen (1951), and earlier roles as a research assistant and lecturer. He habilitated in Economic and Social History at Heidelberg and Münster (1960/61).

He was honored as a member of prestigious academies and received an honorary doctorate from Humboldt University. His career included roles as an assistant professor (University Münster, 1960–1964) and research positions starting from 1954.
