Dr Fiona Turner is a Research Fellow at the Department of Geography, King's College London, affiliated with the School of Global Affairs within the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. Her research focuses on uncertainty quantification in climate systems, particularly regarding ice sheets and sea level rise. She holds a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Bristol, an MSc in Statistics from the University of Sheffield, and a PhD in statistics from the University of Sheffield, with her doctoral thesis titled 'Ice Cores and Emulation: Learning More About Past Ice Sheet Shapes'.
Her current post-doctoral work is part of the Horizon 2020-funded PROTECT project, which aims to project land ice contributions to sea level rise up to 2500. She specializes in building Gaussian process emulators for climate and ice sheet models to generate probabilistic forecasts of sea level contributions from global ice sheets and glaciers. Fiona is also a member of the King's Climate Research Hub, which explores climate change through the lens of science, policy, and culture.

Her work bridges statistical methodology development and applied climate modeling to address pressing questions in sea level rise projections and climate adaptation strategies.
