Dr Fiona Sim is a Lecturer within the MVLS Education Hub and the School of Health & Wellbeing at the University of Glasgow. She serves as Programme Director for the online distance learning Masters in Infant Mental Health and leads courses on Infant Mental Health and Development, Observation, and Clinical Skills. She also contributes to the MSc Public Health curriculum.
Dr Sim holds a BSc (2008) and PhD (2018) in Applied Health Sciences and earned a RET Fellowship (2024) after completing a PG Certificate in Academic Practice with Distinction. Her research focuses on child development, early screening tools, parenting support, and mental health interventions, particularly for vulnerable populations.
Her publications (2012–2024) explore developmental concerns, behavioral difficulties, and program evaluations. Key areas include preschool screening validity, neurodevelopmental risk triage, and parenting program efficacy. She has contributed to projects like the Parenting Support Framework evaluation and the BRIDGE clinical trial protocol for borderline personality disorder.
Awards include the RET Fellowship (2024). Her work bridges clinical practice and education, emphasizing early intervention and evidence-based strategies in child mental health.
