Fiona McNeill

Fiona McNeill is Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at McMaster University, with cross-disciplinary research at the physics-biology-medicine interface. Her work develops non-invasive analytical techniques for elemental analysis in living systems and investigates biological effects of radiation exposure.

Research focuses on:

• Development of portable XRF systems for in vivo metal analysis
• Radiation-induced biological responses including bystander effects
• Biomedical applications of neutron activation analysis
• Toxic metal accumulation and speciation
• Medical physics instrumentation development
