Fiona Allon

Associate Professor Fiona Allon is a faculty member in the Department of Gender and Cultural Studies at the University of Sydney, specializing in cultural studies with a focus on urban cultures, environmental humanities, and finance. She holds roles in key networks including the Sydney Network on Climate Change and Society and the Vere Gordon Childe Centre. Her research interests span suburban and urban cultures, gender and labor, and the cultural dimensions of globalization.

Notable publications include The Temporalities of Waste: Out of Sight, Out of Time (2021) and Renovation Nation: Our Obsession with Home (2008). She has contributed to editorial boards for journals like Communication & Critical/Cultural Studies and Australian Feminist Studies.
