Finja Schaumann

Finja Schaumann is a Researcher at the Department of Community Ecology within the Helmholtz-Zentrum für Umweltforschung - UFZ in Halle, Germany. Her work focuses on pollinator ecology, climate change impacts, and land use effects. She holds a BSc in Biomathematics from the University of Greifswald and an MSc in Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics from Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena.

Her research interests include understanding pollinator behavior and their adaptation to environmental changes, alongside developing monitoring methods for freshwater ecosystems. Key projects include the Phenet initiative (2023–2027), addressing agroecology through phenotyping and envirotyping solutions.

Recent publications highlight her contributions to honeybee adaptation studies and innovative eDNA-based monitoring techniques for freshwater molluscs. She collaborates with international teams to advance conservation strategies and biodiversity preservation.
