Ffion Jones is a Lecturer in Practical Theatre at the Department of Theatre, Film, and Television Studies, Aberystwyth University. Her academic journey includes a BA in Performance Studies and Scenography (2007), an MA in Practicing Performance (2008), and a practice-led PhD (2015), all from Aberystwyth University. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, underscoring her commitment to pedagogical excellence.
Her research bridges rural studies, environmental stewardship, and interdisciplinary methodologies, with a focus on upland sheep farming in Wales. By integrating ethnographic fieldwork, film-making, and site-specific performance, she disseminates the lived experiences of farmers, particularly addressing rewilding and gendered embodied knowledge. Her work also explores the cultural sensitivity of Upland Wales and the tensions between traditional farming practices and ecological conservation.
