Fethiye Ozis

Fethiye Ozis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Southern California and a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. She is a licensed Professional Engineer (Environmental) in Arizona.

Dr. Ozis's research focuses on engineering education and innovative pedagogical strategies, particularly in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. She also explores climate adaptation, sustainable cities, biotechnology for air pollution control, climate-resilient environmental systems, intelligent engineered systems and society, and sustainable water treatment methods. She is affiliated with Carnegie Mellon's Steinbrenner Institute for Environmental Education and Research and the IESS and CREST research groups.

Dr. Ozis actively contributes to academic service, including organizing ASEE's annual conference and serving as a division chair and board member of the Environmental Engineering and Sustainability Division (2022-2026).
