Fernando Loffredo is an Assistant Professor of Early Modern Mediterranean and Colonial Visual Culture at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a Visiting Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. His research focuses on trans-Mediterranean artistic exchanges, sculpture's role in urban spaces, and art-poetry dialogues in early modern Spain's global territories. He leads the Max-Planck Partner Group 'Empires, Environments, Objects' (2022-2027). A recipient of prestigious fellowships, including the Andrew W. Mellon and Harvard’s I Tatti/Museo Nacional del Prado, Loffredo has held postdoctoral grants from the Max-Planck institutes. His work bridges historical scholarship with contemporary debates on cultural heritage and transcultural art histories.
