Fernando Lima

Fernando Lima is Adjunct Faculty in Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and Associate Professor at West Virginia University. He holds a PhD from Tufts University and BS from University of São Paulo.

Research develops process systems engineering methods for energy systems optimization, modular process design, and sustainable manufacturing. Current work focuses on carbon capture integration, dynamic optimization under uncertainty, and industrial electrification.

Leadership roles include serving as CAST Director and editorial board membership for Journal of Process Control.
