Fernando Calderón Quindós

Fernando Calderón Quindós is a Professor in the Philosophy Department at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, University of Valladolid. He holds a PhD in Philosophy and has maintained Full Professor status since 2011, supported by two Spanish research six-year periods (sexenios).

His academic background includes doctoral research followed by extended stays at Université Paris-Sorbonne (Paris-IV), focusing on Enlightenment-era philosophical traditions.

Research centers on 18th Century French Philosophy with specialization in Rousseau's naturalist period, Enlightenment thought, and historical intersections of Philosophy and Natural History. Key contributions include translating Rousseau's "Letters on Botany" (KRK, 2017) for pedagogical correspondence analysis, preparing Spain's first edition of Saint-Pierre's "Viaje a isla Mauricio", and authoring "Filosofía vegetal" (Abada, 2018) examining Lamarckian-era philosophical-botanical relationships. Current work investigates philosophy-natural history dynamics during Lamarck's intellectual period.
