About
Fengxiang X. Han is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Physics, and Atmospheric Sciences at Jackson State University, College of Science, Engineering, and Technology. His research focuses on environmental chemistry, biogeochemistry, and remediation strategies for contaminated soils and water. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and has published extensively on heavy metal cycling, phytoremediation, and carbon sequestration.
Key research interests include nutrient recycling (C, N, P), heavy metal biogeochemistry, wetland and coastal ecosystems, and application of remote sensing in environmental monitoring. His work integrates field studies with advanced analytical techniques to address global environmental challenges such as eutrophication and climate change.
Dr. Han has collaborated on projects funded by agencies including the U.S. Department of Energy and NIH, focusing on uranium remediation and sustainable agricultural practices. His lab develops novel materials for heavy metal adsorption and investigates microbial interactions in contaminated environments.
