About
Dr. Felix Marxer is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Earth System Sciences within the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Leibniz University Hannover. His work focuses on petrology, mineralogy, and geochemistry of magmatic systems, with particular emphasis on diffusion processes, melt-fluid interactions, and magmatic differentiation.
- Research Interests: Magmatic evolution, isotope geochemistry, experimental petrology, and hydrothermal systems.
- Ongoing Project: Amphibole stability and chemistry in mafic calc-alkaline and alkaline magmas (Subproject TP 4 of Research Unit 2881: Diffusion Chronometry of magmatic systems, 2024–2027).
Selected Publications (2025–2018): His research spans topics such as Sb isotope composition of Earth's mantle, Fe-Mg diffusion in olivine, Li diffusion in plagioclase, and zircon chemistry in magmatic systems, published in journals like Chemical Geology, Contributions to Mineralogy and Petrology, and Nature Communications.
