Felipe Gándara

Dr. Felipe Gándara is a Staff Scientist at the Materials Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC), specializing in reticular chemistry and porous materials. His research focuses on the design, synthesis, and structural analysis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent-organic frameworks (COFs) for energy and environmental applications.

Education: Ph.D. in Chemistry (2009) from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Postdoctoral training with Prof. Omar M. Yaghi at UCLA (2009–2012) and UC Berkeley-LBNL (2012–2014). Previous roles include CSIC-ComFuturo and Ramón y Cajal researcher fellowships before becoming a Staff Scientist in 2020.

Research interests include MOF/COF design for energy storage, structural elucidation via X-ray/neutron diffraction, and computational modeling. His work integrates synthetic chemistry with advanced structural analysis to develop functional materials for sustainability.
