Felice Arena is a Full Professor of Ocean Engineering at the Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria and serves as Director of the Natural Ocean Engineering Laboratory (NOEL). His research focuses on nonlinear sea waves, wave statistics, hydrodynamic forces on coastal/offshore structures, and innovative wave energy devices. He has authored over 200 publications and led significant research projects funded by the Italian Ministry of Environment, EU Marie Curie actions, and others.

He has advised over 90 undergraduate/MS students, mentored 17 PhD graduates, and supervised 3 current PhD candidates.
