About
Federico Parmeggiani is a Researcher (RTD-B) in Commercial Law at the University of Trento’s Faculty of Law. He holds a PhD in Law and Economics from the University of Siena (2011) and a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Bologna (2007, cum laude). His research focuses on Commercial Law, Financial Markets Regulation, Corporate Governance, Cooperative Banks, and Economic Analysis of Law.
Before Trento, he taught Corporate Law at the University of Bologna’s Department of Economics (2023–2024), Commercial and International Law at the University of Bologna’s Forlì Campus (2022–), and Law and Economics of Financial Transactions at Bologna’s School of Economics (2019). He has held multiple research positions at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, focusing on cooperative enterprises, rating methodologies, and financial market regulation.
He was a Global Research Fellow at New York University School of Law (2011–2012), exploring rating triggers and market risk regulation. His memberships include the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) and the Scientific Committee of the Fondazione Mario del Monte. He regularly reviews for the Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance and has presented at conferences in Italy and the U.S., including the Italian-American Workshop at NYU (2018) and the Italian Society of Law and Economics annual conference (2012).
