Lecturer and Project Scientist at UC Berkeley's College of Natural Resources. Research focuses on climate change impacts on agriculture, environmental health threats to farmworkers, and adaptive capacity of farming systems. Deputy Director of the UC Planetary Health Center of Expertise and co-leader of the Latinx and the Environment Program.
Investigates socioeconomic dimensions of climate extremes, including heat wave impacts on labor productivity and pandemic vulnerabilities. Fieldwork spans California, Mexico, and cross-border agricultural systems. Teaches sustainable business practices, field methods, and biodiversity conservation.
