Federica Caneparo

Federica Caneparo is a Research Professor in the Department of Italian Studies at the University of Chicago. Her work bridges Renaissance Italian literature and visual culture, focusing on the interplay between literary works and artistic production. She holds a Ph.D. in Italian Literature from the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa and a postgraduate degree in Medieval and Early Modern Art History from the University of Pisa.

Recent publications analyze iconography in Prometeo depictions, Cesare Ripa’s sources, and Boiardo’s visual legacy. She has held research positions at Princeton, Harvard’s Houghton Library, and the École Normale Supérieure in Paris.

Her teaching includes courses like 'Narrative Frescos in Early Modern Italy' (Winter 2025), emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to art and literature.
