Dr. Fawzia Gibson-Fall is a Research Fellow in global health security at King's College London (KCL) and holds a concurrent research fellowship at the Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research at York University, Canada. Her work focuses on the intersection of global health, security actors, and political governance in conflict-affected regions. She is affiliated with the Centre for Conflict & Health Research (KCL) and the Department of War Studies within the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy.
Her research emphasizes trust dynamics, misinformation/disinformation, and military health systems in Africa, as detailed in her forthcoming book Health Warriors: The Global Politics of Military Health in Africa (Johns Hopkins University Press). Current projects include Arctic health security and participatory 'One Health' surveillance initiatives.
As an educator, she has taught postgraduate courses on Conflict & Health, Global Burden of Disease, and Health Policy at University College London (UCL) and King’s Centre for Global Health. She has also led health capacity-building workshops in Sierra Leone and Somaliland through King’s health partnerships.
Her interdisciplinary approach bridges security studies, global health policy, and humanitarian action, with ongoing collaborations at KCL and international organizations.
