Fawn Harrad Hyde is a LOROS Research Fellow in Palliative Care and Frailty at the University of Leicester's School of Health Sciences, Department of Health Sciences. She holds a PhD from the University of Leicester (2021) and has extensive experience bridging research and clinical care. Her work focuses on care home staff decision-making, end-of-life care planning for families, and ambulance staff experiences in care home emergencies.
Education: BSc Psychology with Sociology (University of Leicester), MPhil (social and ecological psychology applied to public house social dynamics), and PhD (care home staff decision-making during hospital transfers).
Research interests include palliative care systems, frailty management, interdisciplinary care pathways, and the sociological impacts of healthcare decision-making. Her Mildred Blaxter Fellowship (2023) supports expanding her PhD work into ambulance staff interviews and grant applications.
Key projects include leading the ENRICH (Enabling Research in Care Homes) team and collaborating with LOROS hospice on family peer-mentorship programs for care home residents' end-of-life planning.
