Fausto Ravida

Dr. Fausto Ravida is a Lecturer in German Studies at the University of Trier, specializing in German Linguistics and historical language research. He has been affiliated with the university since 2009, previously serving as a lecturer and research assistant from 2004-2009.

• Magister Artium (2002) in German Studies, Geography, and Italian Studies from Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg

His research focuses on historical linguistics, graphematics, and urban language studies, with publications analyzing medieval German dialects, orthography, and sociolinguistic contact in Luxembourgish administrative texts. He has co-edited conference proceedings and contributed essays to specialized volumes.

Notable works include a monograph on Luxembourg account books (2012), co-editorship of Language in the City (2010), and analyses of morpheme variation (2007), orthography (2013), and historical orality (2016). He teaches foundational and advanced seminars in linguistics and German as a foreign language.
