Fausto Barbero

Fausto Barbero is an Academy Research Fellow at the Department of Philosophy, History and Art Studies, University of Helsinki. His research focuses on formal logic, probabilistic reasoning, and causal models with particular emphasis on interventionist counterfactuals and indeterministic causation. He leads multiple Academy of Finland-funded research projects including 'A logical study of indeterministic causation' (2025–2027).

Research interests span interdisciplinary areas combining philosophy, mathematics, and computer science. His work addresses foundational questions in logic, causation theory, and the formal representation of probabilistic dependencies. Recent contributions include advancements in multiteam semantics and axiomatization of counterfactual logics.

Barbero has delivered 35+ academic activities including invited talks at international conferences and peer reviews. His projects involve collaborations across institutions in Finland and Europe, with active engagement in causal modeling, probabilistic systems, and formal methods.
