Fatma Baytar

Dr. Fatma Baytar serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Centered Design at Cornell University's College of Human Ecology, with her office located in 133 Human Ecology Building.

Her research spans two primary domains:

• Developing computational tools for seamless digitalization of new product development in the apparel industry
• Educating current and future workforce on 3D digital technologies

Specific investigations include 3D body scan applications for protective apparel sizing, virtual fit analysis, avatar-body image relationships, augmented reality for virtual dressing rooms, and virtual prototyping impacts on design cognition. Her cross-disciplinary expertise bridges textile engineering and apparel design with computational methodologies.

Dr. Baytar's scholarly contributions have earned the prestigious NSF CAREER Award and appear in major peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.
