Dr. Fatma ATALAY is an Assistant Professor at Kastamonu University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Surgical Medical Sciences, specializing in Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases. She has been working at Kastamonu University since 2019 as a full-time academic staff member and has served as Department Head since 2022. Her academic journey began with a Medical Degree from Kocaeli University (2006-2012), followed by specialization in Surgical Medical Sciences at Atatürk University (2012-2017).
Dr. ATALAY's research focuses on various aspects of Otolaryngology, particularly vestibular disorders, rhinology, otology, and head and neck surgery. Her work spans clinical studies on vestibular function, ototoxicity prevention, nasal pathologies, and ENT emergencies. She has published extensively with 72 total publications, including numerous articles in SCI-indexed journals.
Her most recent research shows a strong emphasis on vestibular disorders, ototoxicity mechanisms and prevention, and innovative approaches to diagnosing and treating nasal and ear conditions. She frequently collaborates with colleagues including Ayhan Kars, Kübra Topal, and Arzu Tatar, among others.
Dr. ATALAY teaches undergraduate courses in Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases, Medical History, and Clinical Skills Education, and graduate courses in First Aid, Occupational Health and Diseases. Her professional development includes numerous certificates and participation in ENT congresses and symposia across Turkey.
