Fatimah Zainudin

Dr Fatimah Zainudin serves as a Senior Teaching Fellow in Financial Accounting at Southampton Business School, University of Southampton. Her academic career spans over 14 years of teaching accounting and finance to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Her educational background includes:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from MARA University of Technology (Malaysia)
• Master's and PhD in Accounting from University of Bath (funded by university bursary)

Dr Zainudin's research centers on corporate social and environmental reporting (CSER) and comparative financial reporting, with particular focus on:

• Managerial motivations behind reporting decisions
• Discrepancies between actual reporting and GRI framework standards
• International comparisons between developed and developing economies
• Utility sector reporting under regulatory frameworks

Her current major project investigates 'Determinants of the quality of corporate social and environmental reporting: A comparative international study,' analyzing how firm characteristics influence reporting quality across business sectors.

Dr Zainudin actively supervises PhD students and contributes to three research centers:
