Fatih Furkan AKOSMAN is a Researcher at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Political Sciences, Ankara Sosyal Bilimler Üniversitesi (Ankara University of Social Sciences). He holds a PhD in Economics (2020) from the same university, an MSc from the University of Edinburgh (2018-2019), and a BSc in Economics from Bilkent Üniversitesi (2011-2016). His research focuses on Money Politics, Development Economics, and Macroeconomic Growth, with particular emphasis on systemic risk in emerging markets and historical contributions of Islamic economic thought.
He contributed to the TÜBA-TÜBİTAK Supported Project: Türkiye Ekonomisi İçin Kapsamlı Ulusal Makro Ekonomik Model (2017-2021), analyzing macroeconomic dynamics through system simulations. His work includes modeling Turkey's 2018 currency crisis and examining capital flow volatility in emerging economies like Türkiye. He co-edited the proceedings of the 1st International Waqf Institution Symposium (2018), exploring the role of waqf in sustainable development.
