Farida ZEHRAOUI

Farida ZEHRAOUI is an Associate Professor at the University of Evry Val d'Essonne, where she conducts research within the IBISC laboratory's AROB@S team. Her work bridges artificial intelligence and healthcare, focusing on critical applications in medical diagnostics and treatment personalization.

Her research specializes in making deep learning models transparent and trustworthy for clinical use through three core approaches: integrating knowledge graphs for concept-based explanations, combining supervised deep learning with unsupervised models for prototype-based interpretations, and hybridizing symbolic AI with deep learning for rule-based transparency. This work directly addresses the "black-box" challenge in healthcare AI, where interpretability is essential for clinician trust and patient safety in personalized medicine applications.

Dr. ZEHRAOUI successfully defended her Habilitation to Direct Research (HDR) in February 2024, qualifying her to supervise doctoral candidates and lead independent research projects. As an active member of the AROB@S team at IBISC, she contributes to advancing explainable AI methodologies specifically tailored for medical decision support systems.
