Farhad Ameri is an Associate Professor at the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks, Arizona State University, and Director of the Semantic Computing Lab. He holds a Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Michigan (2006), and B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering.
His research focuses on knowledge representation and AI applications in manufacturing systems. Key areas include:

He is a founding member of the Industrial Ontology Foundry (IOF) and active in ASME and IFIP WG 5.7 Advances in Production Management Systems.
As lab director, he leads semantic computing initiatives while teaching courses including Design for Manufacturing (MFG 385), Computer-Aided Design & Manufacturing (RAS 210), and graduate research/dissertation courses across multiple semesters (2023-2025).
