Fang Ren

Fang Ren is a Professor with joint appointments in the College of Arts & Sciences and the School of Business & Society at the University of Redlands. She teaches GIS courses including GIS fundamentals, spatial statistics, business applications, and project development. Her graduate projects employ advanced GIS technologies for real-world problem-solving.

Research focuses on transportation geography, urban dynamics, and human activity patterns, particularly the Internet's impact on travel behavior. She investigates spatio-temporal phenomena through geovisualization and location modeling to enhance service efficiency. Publications appear in journals like Journal of Transport Geography and Transactions in GIS.

She contributes to professional communities through roles on the NSF review panel and education committees for international GIS organizations.
