Fang Hu

Dr Fang Hu is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting at the Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics, Griffith University, and a member of the Griffith Asia Institute. She holds a PhD in Accounting from City University of Hong Kong and is affiliated with professional bodies CPA Australia and CAANZ.

• Education: Doctor of Philosophy (Accounting), City University of Hong Kong (2009)

Her research focuses on capital market accounting, corporate sustainability, and financial reporting in China and global contexts. Recent work examines ESG disclosure, audit quality in emerging markets, and political influences on corporate governance.

Dr Hu has secured multiple competitive grants, including:

• $5,600 grant (2023) from Accounting & Finance Association of Australia & New Zealand
• $480,000 National Natural Science Funds (China) (2018-2021)
• $14,157 internal grant from Griffith University (2012-2014)

She serves as Associate Editor for Accounting Research Journal and Guest Editor for Pacific Accounting Review. Her supervision includes:
