Falyn Strey

Falyn Strey serves as the Coordinator of Undergraduate Laboratories in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago, managing introductory geology lab operations and supporting teaching assistants to create hands-on, engaging learning environments for students new to geosciences.

Her educational background includes:

• BS Geology (2017), University of Wisconsin Oshkosh
• MS Geosciences (2021), University of Wisconsin Milwaukee

Prior to UIC, Strey taught diverse introductory and advanced geology courses as a Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. Her academic focus centers on accessible curriculum development for novice learners, with research interests spanning Geology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, and Geoscience Education.

In her current role, she oversees the department's undergraduate laboratory program, optimizing instructional resources and mentoring teaching staff to advance the department's educational mission.
