About
Fabrizio Storti is a Full Professor of Structural Geology at the Department of Chemistry, Life Sciences and Environmental Sustainability, University of Parma, Italy. He serves as Member ad Honoris (Number 3287) of the Academia Europaea and previously contributed to the European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant evaluation panels. Storti held leadership roles as President of the EGU Tectonics and Structural Geology Division (2009-2013) and as Vice Rector for the Third Mission at the University of Parma.
Research Interests focus on structural geology and tectonics, including:
- Evolution of fault-related folds and fluid flow implications
- Architecture of fault zones and cataclastic rocks
- Thrust-and-fold belts interaction with surface processes
- Sheared passive margins analysis
- Petrographical and geochemical studies of deformation structures
Recent articles highlight his expertise in fracture analysis, analogue modeling, and seismic fault dynamics across diverse geological settings including the Apennines, Adriatic basin, and dolostone fault systems.
Scientific Awards:
- Member ad Honoris, Academia Europaea (Number 3287)
Teaching & Supervision: Storti has led structural geology courses at Roma Tre University (2001-2010) and University of Parma (2010-present), mentoring Ph.D. students funded through industrial research grants. He established the NEXT research group for integrated structural studies and geodynamic modeling.
