Fabrice Brodard

Dr. Fabrice Brodard is a Teaching Professor at the Institute of Psychology (IP), part of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Lausanne (UNIL). He was promoted to Type 1 Teaching and Research Master (MER1) effective August 1, 2024, having previously served as a Senior Lecturer (Type 2) since 2011.

Dr. Brodard's research focuses on family psychology with particular emphasis on domestic violence and child abuse across family, school, and sports contexts. His work demonstrates a consistent commitment to bridging research, teaching, and clinical practice. He has made significant contributions to the validation of assessment tools for French-speaking psychologists and examines the psychological evaluation process and the impact of disorders on family relationships. His research is closely connected to practical applications through his work with the Observatory of Child Abuse (OME), which he co-directs.

Dr. Brodard maintains strong collaborative relationships with various departments of the University Hospital of Vaud (CHUV), including the Cantonal Center for Autism, Pediatric Obesity services, and SUPEA. These collaborations focus on clinical aspects of psychological assessment and family dynamics in the context of various disorders.

As an educator, Dr. Brodard supervises students in the Child and Adolescent Consultation department of the Institute of Psychology, guiding them through their first clinical experiences with children and adolescents. His teaching approach reflects his philosophy of integrating research, education, and practical psychological work.

Dr. Brodard serves as co-director of the Observatory of Child Abuse (OME) and is responsible for continuing education within this organization.
