Fabri Blacklock

Dr. Fabri Blacklock is an Associate Professor and Scientia Fellow at UNSW Art and Design, University of New South Wales. A Nucoorilma and Biripi woman from Tingha and Dingo Creek (NSW), her work centers Indigenous epistemologies through decolonial research frameworks. She maintains affiliations with UNSW as a Scientia Fellow.

Research Focus: Her scholarship investigates:

• Aboriginal cultural resilience and connection to Country
• Revival of endangered NSW Aboriginal women’s art practices
• Synthesis of traditional knowledge systems with contemporary technologies
• Art as methodology for community wellbeing and cultural continuity

Utilizing Aboriginal Research Methodologies—including yarning, deep listening, and participatory art—her work actively challenges colonial narratives.
